The Housing Authority of the City of Trenton, New Jersey, which manages approximately 1600 public housing units and is in various phases of multiple development projects, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Director of Finance and Administration. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for managing staff functions to establish and maintain consistent application of processes and procedures in the following areas: accounting, financial controls, budgeting, financial reporting, procurement and contracting, information technology and management information systems. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in finance, accounting, public administration or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience involving governmental finance, accounting, purchasing, and IT is required. An MBA or CPA is preferred. The successful candidate must have a working knowledge and familiarity with HUD accounting and reporting requirements and proven management skills necessary to effectively plan, motivate, train, and supervise the work of professional and technical staff as well as contractors and vendors.
