The Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency is looking for temporary Housing Program Technicians to assist in the Sacramento Emergency Rental Assistance (SERA) program. These individuals will perform a variety of technical level work related to the Housing Authority’s provision of housing assistance programs.
Temporary positions may last up to 6 months of employment.
Candidates will be referred to a Staffing Agency for additional screening. Candidates who pass screening qualifications may be required to pass an online written exam prior to an interview invite.
What is the Sacramento Emergency Rental Assistance (SERA) program?
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA), in partnership with the City and County of Sacramento, through federal and state funding, is offering emergency rent and utilities assistance for renters living within Sacramento County who have experienced a reduction in household income, increased expenses, or other financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Education & Experience:
-High School Diploma or GED
-In addition to the educational experience, must have at least two (2) years of equivalent experience in a similar position in which most of the essential functions of this position were performed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
-Housing Program Technicians are responsible for the following:
-Review applications to determine eligibility for SERA program participants
-Calculate and determine initial eligibility to receive assistance under the SERA program
-Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed case files.
Top candidates will have the following skills:
-Strong attention to detail
-Exceptional customer service with internal and external clients
-Ability to navigate functions in various databases
-Candidates will be referred to a Staffing Agency for additional screening.
