Under general direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), provides complex or specialized legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights obligations and privileges of the organization. Resolves highly complex business or technical issues by identifying legal solutions and recommending a course of action. Examines legal data to effectively advise the CEO and Senior Leadership. Requires in-depth knowledge and experience and has significant case or subject matter responsibilities. Experienced in a broad range of legal areas such as acquisitions, securities, litigation, and taxation. May be a specialist of superior skill in a specific area of the real estate law or a highly qualified senior generalist.
Requirements: Juris Doctorate (JD) degree in a related field with the license to practice law within the state of North Carolina, five (5) years related experience in business law, government law or nonprofit organization administration. Working knowledge of and certification for other related Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, Real Estate Development, Financial Management and/or Tax Credits preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
