The Environmental Sustainability Manager will lead the development of new and creative ways to reduce King County Housing Authority's (KCHA) footprint on the environment while enabling the agency to re-purpose saved energy dollars towards the support of low income households.
Since the inception of KCHA's environmental sustainability program in 2007, the Housing Authority has:
- Provided recycling outreach at over 65 multifamily properties, saving $160,000 each year in avoided garbage costs.
- Reduced water and energy consumption throughout the housing portfolio, saving over $200,000 each year.
- Achieved 3-star or higher Envirostars certification at 39 separate housing sites.
