The California Department of Housing & Community Development (HCD) is currently hiring 18 positions for the newly created Disaster Recovery Unit.
HCD needs your talent to assist in California’s recovery from the recent, unprecedented devastation to the State caused by wildfires, flooding, mud and debris flows. The Department is seeking qualified, experienced individuals to build a new unit solely committed to disaster relief and recovery efforts. HCD has received over $1 billion in funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to aid in this critical effort.
The Disaster Recovery unit will work on the cutting edge to design and implement critical recovery programs and long-term mitigation strategies to rebuild impacted California communities, while working to reduce impacts of future disasters. The unit will focus on key programmatic and policy areas including: Housing, Infrastructure, Economic Development, Environmental Mitigation and Procurement, Monitoring and Compliance.
