DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Position is Open until Filled

Wilmington Housing Authority (WHA) is seeking a qualified candidate to plan, direct and manage the planning, design and development of capital project initiatives  for WHA including 1) planning for redevelopment of WHA housing developments, 2) identifying opportunities and planning for new housing and commercial development to be undertaken by WHA directly or with third party partners, and 3) supervision of the process leading up to the construction including acquisition, financial analysis, funding, design development, local approval and developer selection processes for WHA development initiatives and 4) provide technical support for housing development and general agency operations and 5) directs the renovation of existing housing units.  Bachelor’s degree in urban development and planning, business or public administration, architecture, engineering or related field.  Ten years’ experience on a highly professional level in housing construction and renovation; ten years’ professional experience in a federally assisted housing program including administrative and supervisory experience.  Extensive knowledge of federal, state and local property management and housing construction; knowledge of principles and practices of public sector administrative management, including cost accounting, budgeting, purchasing, contract management, contract administration, customer service and employee supervision.  Computer proficiency mandatory and working knowledge and skill in utilizing one or more construction industry standard project management software such as Excel, Access, Microsoft Project, Primavera, Procore, etc.  Salary commensurate with experience.   Resumes submitted to  resume@whadelaware.org .  Please include the name of this position in the subject line of email.  WHA is an equal opportunity employer.
