The Cambridge Housing Authority seeks qualified applicants for the above position within the Planning and Development Department of the Agency. Reporting directly to the Director of Planning and Development, or his/her designee this position is responsible for the evaluation, administration, and enforcement of construction contracts for a significant portion of CHA’s modernization and development programs. Responsibilities include technical review, technical planning, public bidding, as well as the negotiation and processing of change orders. This position creates and publishes a significant volume of documentation, reports, and Board recommendations. The Construction Manager will supervise members of the construction and planning staff, when necessary. Solid communication skills are required, as this position regularly meets with contractors, consultants, and residents in order to resolve outstanding issues/problems. Preferred candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree, coupled with (5) five years of demonstrable, large-scale ($2 to $10+ million range), construction management experience. Prior supervisory experience and considerable knowledge of Massachusetts building codes, Federal, State and local bidding procedures would be considered a plus.
