The Code Enforcement Inspector Supervisor is responsible for planning, prioritizing, assigning, supervising, and reviewing the work of code inspectors responsible for performing inspections of existing structures, properties, and premises in support of the City's code enforcement program. The supervisor must ensure consistent performance of maintenance code inspections in the field. The supervisor is called upon to respond to questions and concerns posed by homeowners, landlords, tenants, and realtors. He/she must be knowledgeable of the Virginia Maintenance Code, the Uniform Statewide Building Codes, and related regulations and ordinances, to ensure that code violations are cited promptly and correctly.
Applicants must possess a current and valid Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification, a One- and Two-Family Combination Inspector or Residential Inspector certification and have 8 years of related experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead staff and perform complex inspections.
