The D.C. Housing Authority’s Office of Audit and Compliance (OAC) is in need of an Auditor whose primary function is to perform financial and compliance reviews of resident organizational activities and maintain professional liaisons with various resident councils and City-Wide Advisory Boards. Incumbents of this role support the Agency’s Executive Director and its Board of Commissioners by providing independent assessments on whether financial and operating information is accurate and reliable and by ensuring that risks to the agency are identified and minimized. The Auditor ensures that regulations and internal policies and procedures are followed and that operating criteria are met. They are responsible for overseeing that resources are efficiently and economically used and administered and that DCHA’s objectives are effectively achieved. Employees in the OAC serve as liaisons and coordinators with Federal and D.C. government regulatory agencies in reporting actions to correct violations pursuant to audit and compliance requirements and regulations.
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) years of related experience. Interested parties should have strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook) and be able to learn other computer software programs as needed.
