The Department

The Finance Department provides vital services to internal employees, program participants, outside investors, and a wide array of other stakeholders. 
 
The financial planning and analysis team adds value to the Authority by providing leadership with financial reporting knowledge and experience endeavored to support strategic operating decisions.
 
The Position
The Manager of Financial Planning and Reporting is a key member of the Finance Department.  This position will supervise a staff of two.  They will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis, and will participate in various financial planning activities.  They will lead their team in process improvement efforts and other key initiatives in support of KCHA's mission. 

Key responsibilities of the Manager of Financial Planning and Reporting are:

  • Annual financial statement preparation
  • Quarterly financial reports for the KCHA Board of Directors
  • Monthly financial reports for management
  • Preparation of various financial analyses for management
  • Participate in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets
  • Preparation of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Financial Data Schedule
  • Preparation of the HUD annual operating fund subsidy
  • Mentor staff in preparation for the next stage in their careers

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

Experience & Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related field
  • At least five years of professional experience in a position-related discipline such as accounting, finance, budgeting or financial planning and analysis
  • At least three years of experience in staff supervision
  • Experience providing top-notch consulting services to internal or external clients is highly preferred
  • Experience working in a public agency is preferred
  • CPA license is preferred

Salary & Benefits:
The starting salary range of this position is $81,101.44 - $108,473.18 annually.  A comprehensive health care benefits package for you and your dependents includes medical, dental and vision insurance, life and long-term disability insurance plans, vacation, sick and personal leave, reduced tuition, and retirement benefits are also available.
