New Tools to Teach Green Practices to Residents

Instead of the regular monthly conference call for the PHA Sustainability Network, members were invited to an Enterprise Green Communities webinar introducing two new tools to engage and educate residents on a range of green issues. Education is a key component of maximizing the health, economic, and environmental benefits of green development, since resident participation plays a large role.

The tools featured are Resident Education Cards and a Resident “Training in a Box.” The education cards are illustrated guides that can be published in a variety of formats and can be edited to incorporate community-specific art or tips. They quickly walk residents through topics like green laundry and cleaning supplies.  The TIAB covers energy and water conservation, healthy living and waste and recycling issues. Both are designed to be user-friendly and accessible.  The full discussion is available on the Enterprise website.
